Camera Map is a community record of surveillance cameras visible from public space. Anyone can add one: photograph the camera, say where it is, and a moderator publishes it.
Rules for submissions
- Photograph the camera, from a place you are lawfully allowed to be.
- No identifiable people, licence plates, or house numbers in the frame.
- Don't trespass, don't climb, don't touch the equipment.
- One camera per submission. Get the location right — better a dropped pin than a guess.
What happens to your photo
Your browser re-encodes the image before upload, which strips EXIF metadata — including the camera model, timestamp, and the original GPS tag. The only location stored is the one you set on the map. We don't ask for an account or an email. Your IP address is hashed and kept solely to rate-limit uploads.
Corrections and takedowns
If a pin is wrong, or a photo shows something it shouldn't, write to the site contact and it will be removed or corrected.
